To honor and remember family members who are no longer with us, their images have been woven into the fabric of 13th & Third. Using old family photos, artist Joe Iurato has created beautiful wood cutouts from stencils and aerosol paint, and then photographed them around 13th & Third in New York City - bringing the past into the present in a very special way.
Our inaugural wine features Julie’s grandfather, Richard Frankenfelder, from a photo of Richard taken in the early 1920s on the eve of Prohibition. We’re tickled pink to have Richard on our label for the first vintage of rosé, and as a lifetime New Yorker, to bring him back to his roots standing on the corner today of 13th & Third. And on our homepage, Gregg’s grandmother Lily standing strong in that same crosswalk.
